My Summer Part 2: THE ROAD TRIP

Hi all,

So as I mentioned in my previous post, I took a week off to go on a Road Trip and it was amazing.

We drove from Washington to San Francisco, then Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.
Although everything was amazing, the drive was exhausting. I had a lot of fun but I don't think I can do another road trip anytime soon (or ever haha).

We arrived at San Francisco on the same day that one of  the Asiana airplanes had that accident. Our hotel was across from the airport, therefore, we saw a lot of news reporters came by to do their job. It was very sad but fortunately, not a lot of people died from it. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was in the accident and their family members.

On a happier note, I had a chance to visit so many different places in San Francisco. We went to Downtown San Francisco, Lombard Street, Golden Gate Bridge, and of course some awesome Chinese restaurants.

Look at these houses in San Francisco

At the Golden Gate Bridge
I like how on the Golden Gate Bridge, there's a hot line for Suicide intervention.

Then in L.A, we went to some amazing Vietnamese places and we also visited Universal Studios Hollywood. The Minions are so funny :)

This is where they film The Voice

More Minions

Even more Minions

By the time we got to Vegas, we were all exhausted and broke so we didn't really go do anything crazy :) We went to different Hotels on the Strip and we went to some free shows like the Water show at Bellagio, the Pirate show at Treasure Island and the Volcano show at the Mirage. We also bought the Buffet of Buffets deal where we could go to 6 different hotels for for their buffets within 24 hours. My favorite one must be the one in Ceasars Palace. Their seafood bar was amazing.

Look at these amazing desserts. Look at that Creme Brulee

I had so much fun and I hope you guys did something fun over the summer too. If you do, let me know. If you want to share that awesome experience with the rest of our subscribers, let me know so I can post it here for you.

Now is the time to go back to work again to pay off my credit cards :)

See you guys in the Fall!

What to do in Washington during the summer Pt.2- Seattle Pride 2013 and July 4th

Hi, I hope you all are having a good summer! I certainly have been. Although I have been studying and working a lot, it's been nice because I've also had time to relax and have some fun.

One big event that happened in Seattle that I went to was Seattle Pride 2013. I went with several PLU students to watch the parade and participate in the events that were happening at the Seattle Center after the parade. Since I've never experienced anything like that in Japan, I'm really glad that I went for the new experience, but also to witness people celebrating diversity. The whole day was really exciting, and to top that off, the weather was absolutely amazing! I've never been to a parade like that, so I'm happy that I got to enjoy this event with friends.

Fireworks in Steilacoom

I also watched fireworks on July 4th in Steilacoom. Though I have celebrated Independence Day in America before, this was a completely different experience from what I experienced before because I mostly spent time with friends. We walked around the waterfront in Steilacoom and enjoyed the beautiful view in the area, and then we watched the fireworks later during the night. Though I do miss being back in Japan a lot, I've been enjoying spending time in Washington and doing things that I normally wouldn't experience back at home. I hope everyone continues to have a great summer, and enjoy the warm weather!

My Summer Fun Part 1

Hello all

Summer has officially begun for me. The month of June was crazy for me as you guys know since I got an internship recently.

Anyways, I tried my best to play hard and work hard by taking little vacations last month. I thought it would be cool to share with you guys what I did and hopefully you guys can join me in the future as well.

I first went to Portland, Oregon for one night and one day. I did not realize that it was pride weekend in Portland until I got there. There was a lot of Pride festivities going on and it was super fun. When I was there, I had a chance to to go Voodoo Doughnuts, Salt & Straw Ice cream, and Luc Lac Lounge, etc...These places are quite popular among visitors, so there was always a line everywhere we went. Although the sun was killing me, I had so much fun.
The foods at Luc Lac Lounge were amazing. I have to come back

My favorite doughnut must be the one with bacon on it. :)

It's Summer, and for once, Washington weather is gone and it's being replaced by the Sun. So of course I had to go Hiking...again :)
I love the Northwest lifestyle. When it's sunny, you can see that almost everyone wants to be outside and doing outdoor funzy activities. The trail I went to was full of people, even when I got to the top. Everyone was just sitting there and had lunch and it was amazing.

My summer does not end here. I will do a road trip soon and I will definitely share that experience with you. Let me know how your summer is going and share with the rest of our subscribers what you are up to.

Today is already July 3rd and I can't wait till 4th of July. I don't think I can go to Seattle for firework this year because I work night shift that day. You guys go and have fun for me, will ya?

Have a wonderful summer
Henry
