What to do in Washington during the summer Pt.3- A Day in Seattle

Hi there! It's three more weeks till classes start again at PLU, and although I'm a little sad that the summer is coming to an end, I'm looking forward to going to classes and seeing my friends again!

On Monday, August 12th I went to Seattle with two Japanese friends who are visiting Tacoma. Although they visited Seattle once before, they said that they hadn't looked at the tourist areas like Pike Place Market, so I thought it was a good idea to show them around Seattle. We also went with two neighbors who drove us there, so it was a good group! We first walked around Pike Place Market, where we got to see different merchants selling flowers, fish, and other unique things. Then, we went to the Gum Wall where we took a few pictures. For those who have never been to Seattle before, the Gum Wall is a small alleyway where people stick their gum on walls. I know it sounds a little gross, but it's definitely interesting and worth seeing!

We then walked around the waterfront, where we had lunch. We got fish and chips, which tasted delicious! There was also an old-style arcade, and we spent a few minutes playing games like Pac-Man. Though the day mostly consisted of hanging out with friends and walking around downtown Seattle, it was a lot of fun!

Well, I hope everyone keeps having a good summer!

Love,
Loana
