About Frances (ex-blogger)
My name is Frances Steelquist and I am not an international student! I'm 20 years old and in my 4th semester at PLU, aiming for a degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science. Last year I traveled to Berlin for one of PLU's January term programs and took the Spring semester off in order to travel in Europe and Nepal. While in Europe, I was able to stay with several PLU students who were either international students returned to native Europe or U.S. students studying away. Having this network of friends around the world is an amazing privilege and deepened the effects of world travels. I can’t wait to get back out there!
This year, I’ve joined the International team as the International Student Services’ Programming Intern. I’m involved in the organization of international student orientation and events which we hold throughout each semester - I get to work to help bridge the international and domestic student experiences.
Otherwise, I am a trip leader with Outdoor Recreation as well as a white water rafting guide and a mountaineer, and I play trombone with the University Symphonic Orchestra. I hope through this blog I can convey my many passions and how the international experience is enriching my education.
