About Chau (ex-blogger)

 Warm greetings to everyone!

Celebrating Lunar New Year!
I am new here!!! My name is Chau and I just joined the PLU International Student Center as a new Intern Student. I am planning to go to Nursing school at PLU and minor in Kinesiology. I came from Southern of Viet Nam and attended Edmonds College for the Pre-nursing program.

When I was at Edmonds, I got involved in many clubs and activities such as the greenhouse club, saving-light-trash-cans activities... From those activities I have learned a lot about the culture, the environment, and the community; especially, I got many friends from different countries. It was a great experience at Edmonds. After completing my Pre-nursing, I got transferred to PLU.

My first impression about PLU was amazing how caring the community was to me. I was so nervous to start a new school during the COVID-19 pandemic, in which everything has changed. My first orientation was virtual, classes were online, there was no in-person interaction in my first semester. However, we all made it work virtually based on the incredibly helping, caring people at PLU. It inspired me to give care to others. I always keep in mind and tell people that they should not be shy to ask questions and should make more connections with people because there is always someone to look out for them.

In my spare time, I love to play outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and also gardening. I can’t wait to have everything returning to normal and we can enjoy our lovely life together!!!
